The children are learning our routine and how our classroom environment is interactive.  The children are forming new friendships and navigating the opinions of others.

Literacy:  This week we worked on the formation of the letter F and its sound.  We are also working on other letters, upper and lowercase during our circle.  We continued to read books by Eric Carle.

Math: We created a number line by matching numbers with rocks and the children’s favorite game on Friday is “would you rather”, which teaches them about a line graph.

Sensory Table: We had little and big rocks in our sensory table for sorting.

Art: We mixed our skin color by using red, yellow, blue and white paint. The children did a great job with looking at their skin and seeing what color they are.  When the paint dried, the children created their own faces with eyes, noses, mouth, and hair.  These will be saved for our open house.

Browsing boxes:  During the year we will be using group time to introduce small books to the children.  These are generally used for following directions.  The children put these in their browsing boxes and at the end of the year they will have some books to take home that they made.

Fine Motor:  The children are either writing or tracing their names daily and we are working on their correct grip.
