Dear Families,

It’s hard to believe that we are almost at the end of the school year and what a great year we have all had.   I would like to take a moment to thank all of our families for their support this year and being such a great help to the teachers with Co-oping.  We could not do everything we do without our families.

Classes are now going outside daily, so dress your child appropriately for the weather.  Also, it is a good idea to put sunscreen on your child, before school, so they are protected at recess time.  Teachers cannot put sunscreen on your child during the day.

Staff Appreciation Week:

Our staff appreciation week is May 1-5.  If you have any questions or would like to assist, please contact our executive board.

Chickens:

It has been a tradition at the Co-op for a few years now to hatch ducklings during May.  My egg supplier’s ducks are now elderly, so we are changing to chicken eggs for our life cycle science unit.  Our chicken eggs will be in an incubator at Mrs Bois’s house and will be brought to the school the second week of May. The eggs should begin to hatch on May 11 or 12.  The children will be able to see the chickens and hopefully see the process of some hatching chicks.

May Classroom Playground Days

Each class will be having a playground day that all parents and siblings may attend during the week of May 8-11 at 11:00.  Rain dates will be the following week.  Below is the schedule for your child’s class.

Spring Fling:

The spring fling is Saturday, May 20 from 1-4.  The Spring Fling is the school’s biggest fundraiser of the year and is open to the entire community, not just for WCK members. We also will be having raffle baskets at the event.   This year’s event will include a Fun Run, entertainment provided by members of the local community, a raffle, food and more. Please tell your neighbors, friends, and family about this family fun event!

Maintenance Day:

Our maintenance day will be on Saturday, May 6  from 8-12.  There will be jobs to do on the playground and some inside also. We will send out more information as the date gets closer.
