February Director’s Letter

By | January 31, 2018

Dear Families,

Happy Winter!  We have had many cancellations due to the snow or ice, but we will be making up 5 of them at the end of the year.  Our last day for our morning classes will be Monday, June 4. A reminder to keep sending in your child’s appropriate clothing for outdoor play.  We go out every day that the weather is above 25 degrees F with no precipitation.  Also labeling all your child’s clothing makes it easier for the teachers to know what belongs to what child.

2018-2019 Registration:

Registration is in full swing and we are filling up fast.  MWF Nursery is full but there is still availability in T/TH. Three and four day Pre-K also has availability. If you are interested in PEEP please let us know the days you are looking a, as it is filling up fast as well. For children going to public kindergarten next year, our KEEP program is a good option to extend the day and participate in some great enrichment activities.  Bussing is provided.  If you are interested in your child attending Keep, please see Patti in the office.

Our Chunky’s Fundraiser:

Our school is participating in a Chunky’s Fundraiser! The goal of this fundraiser is raise $1000 to fund our Boston Aquarium in-class field trip this Spring. If every family sells just 5 tickets we can hit our goal! Who doesn’t love going to Chunky’s for dinner or even breakfast and a movie during school vacation.

Early Bird Peter Rabbit Raffle- For each ticket sale turned in by 2/5 receives a raffle ticket for a Peter Rabbit gift basket!

Our event focuses on selling our prepaid admission tickets.  Here are the ticket details:

  • Tickets are good for any Chunkys location (Manchester, Nashua, Pelham & Haverhill)
  • Tickets are good for any movie*, anytime (Monday-Thursday)
  • Tickets have no “Black Out” dates
  • Tickets have a 1-year expiration date
  • Ticket Selling Price: $6.00

*A $3.00 surcharge will be added at the ticket counter when pre-paid fundraising admission is redeemed for a 3D film.

Fundraising will begin 1/30/2017 and end 2/13/2017.  In order to make this fundraiser a success, each participant needs to sell at least 5 tickets.  Once the fundraiser has ended, please have all forms and money returned in your child’s folder or to Patti in the office.

Donations for Spring Fling:

We are once again organizing our annual Spring Fling scheduled for May, 2018. This event is a community fair focused on wellness and will include a Kids Fun Run, field day activities, entertainment provided by members of the community as well as a Raffle and Silent Auction.  The Spring Fling is our school’s largest fundraiser of the year.

Last year, thanks to the generous donations from members of our community, the event was a huge success.  Proceeds helped the school to install a nature-based playground for children to explore.  This year we hope to raise enough money to continue to make improvements to our facilities and our enrichment programs.

If you have anything that could be included in the Raffle and/or Silent Auction at the Spring Fling, please message Kelly at Kelly.janco@gmail.com.

Story Hour:

Our 2nd session of story hour begins on Thursday, February 1 from 9-10 am. This session will run every 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month, until March 22. It is open to children 18-36 months.

Winter Vacation:

School will be closed the week of February 26-March 2.  Have fun with your family!!!
