We are learning all about the signs of Spring! We are just hoping for some nicer Spring weather so we can get outside and start exploring these signs.
Literacy: We read a story called, “When Will It Be Spring?” by Catherine Walters. This was story about a little bear that was so excited for Spring he kept waking up from hibernation to look for some signs of Spring. The children all had some great ideas about what they might look for outside as a hint that Spring is on the way!!
The children played letter BINGO and LOVED it. They are practicing letter recognition as well as letter sounds.
Math: We played Spot It! This game works on numbers, shapes, and colors. The children had to identify whatever number, shape, or color was called out and pick up that card as fast as they could!
Sensory Table: There were black beans and fake flowers in our sensory table this week. The children enjoyed pretending to plant flowers.
Art: We made sponge painted butterflies which are hanging up in our classroom! We also painted flowers that we will finish next week.
Fine Motor: The children cut flower petals and did such a great job! We are very proud with how careful the children were while we practiced using scissors.
